Installing of 2 Versions Photoshop?

Hello guys, just wonder whether it is possible to install the new version of CS4, while keeping my older CS3 installed at the same computer? Or is it not possible to have installed 2 different versions of the same application on the same disk? One person told me that he is working on his computer with three versions of Photoshop on one computer.

I have Photoshop 7.0.1, 8, 9.0.2, 10.0.1 and 11.0.1 happily coexisting on my machine.

I have 2.5.1, 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, CS, CS2, CS3, and CS4. all working just fine.

so no need to reinstall CS3 before installing CS4. What about this folders like preferences in the Library, are there seperate Folders with similar names for each application like the 'Preferences' side by side?
